The Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – The Leader of the Nation presented the “Nazarbayev Centre” complex, the opening of which mark the beginning of a new stage in the activities of the Fund. The first ever Kazakh presidential center established by analogy with other countries' centers will be working in this building, the press service of the fund informs.
The main mission of such institutions in many countries is clarification and propaganda of activities of the heads of state that led the country in different periods of its history. Understanding the meaning of activities of each head of state, his ideas and solutions is important for both present citizens of the country and its future generations. It is not accidental that such centers have become an important part of political, social and cultural life of countries with the presidential form of government. Among them are numerous presidential libraries in the United States: Libraries of Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Johnson, Carter, Reagan, Clinton and many other U.S. presidents.
The American experience of presidential libraries was taken as a basis for organization of presidential centers in South Korea and Australia. Examples of presidential centers in the CIS are the Gorbachev Foundation, the Yeltsin Fund, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Opening of the presidential center in the capital of Kazakhstan will be a landmark moment in the history of our state. The complex includes a museum and library, which will become a kind of informational venues of the Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan providing most complete, accurate and comprehensive information on activities of the First President of our country.
“The Institute of World Economics and Politics under the Fund of the First President will continue its work at this building. Due to it the world community wil be able to learn about unique features of Kazakhstani way and those development strategies of the state, which were authored by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan” – says the Press Office of the Fund.
It is worth noting that the museum and library will not work in the traditional format of such institutions. All the resources of the museum and library will be available through modern technologies making it possible to study information and visual material with wide application of advanced multimedia features.
The Press service reported that the museum was conceived as a major center of information on the contemporary history of Kazakhstan. Its main goal is to disclose the process of formation of the state sovereignty of the republic and the historic role of the First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, in this process.
In its turn, the presidential library is expected to become an intellectual research center. The total volume of the library fund is designed to include 460.5 thousand items (books, brochures and other documents), including 200 thousand items of closed funds.
The original architectural character of the building, which was built by the project of British architect Norman Foster, symbolizes the vitality of modern Kazakhstan. The complex with a total area of over 30 thousand square meters creates the impression of a soaring edifice.
Technical uniqueness of this structure lies in the special design of the roof making the diameter of the span 81 meters. The entire internal layout of the complex is concentrated around a central atrium with a diameter of 26 meters and an area of 535 square meters. It is designed to host various public events and can hold up to 500 visitors.
