In the 20-th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independency the President of the state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, opened the Triumphal Arch "Mangilik El" in Astana, reports zakon.kz with the reference to the official website of the President.
The first in Kazakhstan Triumphal Arch "Mangilik El" is a new symbol of the modern Kazakhstan and the triumph of the Kazakh people implemented lasting dream of the Independency and sovereignty of its country. The Triumphal Arch is located in the intersection of Orynbor and No. 25 streets. The height of the arch is 21.5m., width is 13m. Accurate compliance with the “Golden Section” rule gave the “Mangilik El” arch ideal proportions.
At the bottom, the foundation has volumetric sculptures of 4.4m each in every corner. The sculpture of Aksakal is a symbol of wisdom that carries spirituality and thoughts of the nation. The sculpture of Mother-Woman, the treasurer of hearth and home, symbolizes such values as the “Motherland”, “Mother Earth”, “Mother Tongue”, andetc. In the left side at the bottom of façade niches there is a sculpture of a Nomad warrior, in the right side - a figure of a modern Kazakhstan soldier. Thesculpture of a Nomad warrior reflects heroic feats and courage of Kazakh warriors, and his stylistic feature corresponds to the times of the Anrakay battle. There is a specific Kazakh solar sign of Eternity under each of the sculptures. A picture of a solar mark in Turkic nations served as an amulet from misery and was a source of life, kindness and glow. In the upper part of the sculptures there is the national emblem of the Republic. On the top of the façade there is an inscription “Mangilik El” which has a deep historical roots and meaning. The top of the whole exterior composition is decorated with a difficult ornamental element used in the state flag. All the composition is crowned with the symbol of the state flag in the form of the sun and soaring eagle. Sun is the source of life and energy. In the language of symbols the eagle means the state power, breadth and sagacity. In the nations worldview this is a symbol of freedom, Independence, aspiration to the goal and flight to the future.
Side faces also have particular niches with symbolic figures of “Taikazan”, which represents unity, hospitality and prosperity. The side walls are decorated with Kazakh ornaments with a shield of Kazakh warriors “Kalkan” in the center. All the times, it was a symbol of protection, loyalty, durability, and victory. Inside of the arched doorway is decorated with 7x3.5m relief panels on both sides. One of them pictures the depth of Kazakh history in symbolic periodization “Saks” – “Turks” – “Cumans” – “Kazakhs”. From the other side of the lunette, the theme of a panel is dedicated to the main value of the nation –its Independence that is unfoldedthrough the features of the Akorda, Bayterek and other sight seeings of the capital. The aspiration to the future is expressed by the figures of young people. The structure is crowned by the excerpt from the Constitution of the RK: “The Republic of Kazakhstan proclaims itself as a democratic, secular, legal and social state the highest values of which are an individual, his life, rights and freedoms”.
